Transshipment and Storage in Ports
The location of the producer determines the best routes for shipping the product to the customer. Belaruskali JSC is in a position to ship its products from both the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea, namely from the ports of Klaipeda, Nika Tera, and Reni.
For these purposes, BPC uses port terminals specifically designed to handle fertilizers featuring suitable facilities to accept, store and transship bulk cargoes. The storage capacity available simultaneously across the ports is about 350,000 tons, which is essential in high season for timely supplies to the customers.
For product distribution in remote areas where direct small cargo deliveries of 3 – 5 Kt from Europe are not available, BPC makes frequent use of bonded warehouses. Currently BPC rents four warehouses in northern and southern China. Going forward, we are looking into renting warehouses in the Philippines and Bangladesh. Having products from large tonnage vessels readily available at the warehouse, BPC can make a quick delivery of a small volume of 2,000 t and above within 7 days to many countries and ports of South East Asia. This helps us accommodate urgent requests for products from small and medium buyers while staying competitive in terms of delivery time despite the remoteness of our operations from the end recipient.
