SOLIGORSK, 19 June (BelTA) - Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) had a record high output and export of potash fertilizers in 2014, BPC Director General Yelena Kudryavets reported to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on 19 June, BelTA has learned.

She stressed that OAO Belaruskali sells various high-quality products. Apart from that, the company has a well-developed logistics network; workers of the company promptly respond to the trends on the international market.

According to Yelena Kudryavets, the company has sold over 4 million tones of potash fertilizers this year. The enterprise has signed contracts for July and is developing an action plan for August. According to Yelena Kudryavets the export of potash fertilizers in containers hasincreased. The company exports over 100,000 tonnes of fertilizers in containers monthly.

The Belarusian enterprise delivers potash fertilizers to Brazil, China, South East Asia, and has been working to increase export to European countries. The company views Africa as a very promising partner.

Speaking about the tendencies on the global market of potash fertilizers, Yelena Kudryavets has remarked that the demand and prices are on the rise. In her words, in January-April 2014 Brazil's demand rose by almost 1.2 million tonnes; the price went up by more than $50 per tonne. The same trend is observed in Europe and Southeast Asia. “Many clients and partners were surprised to learn that Belaruskali is such a strong and advanced enterprise. Belaruskali is the only plant in the world that has built new mines for the past 20 years. Unfortunately, not all our clients were aware of that. They did not know about the quantity and diversity of products that the company offers,” she said.

Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) was established by Belaruskali and Russia's Uralkali in April 2005. In H2 2013 Uralkali quit from the joint trading company and announced changes of the sale strategy. The changes resulted in negative consequences for all the participants of the potash market and affected the financial performance of the potassium chloride manufacturers.

JSC  Belaruskali is one of the world's largest manufacturers and exporters of potash fertilizers. According to the International Fertilizer Industry Association, Belaruskali accounts for 14% of the world's potash fertilizers production. Belaruskali exports products to over 70 countries.
