On May 22, 2016, a fire broke out on the roof constructions of the gMOP warehouse located in Production Unit 1 of OJSC Belaruskali. Fire units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were immediately called at the scene, the emergency was eliminated. The causes of the fire are being investigated. There are no casualties.

At present, installation works are being done at Production Unit 1 on switching technological schemes of loading to the reserve line of loading gMOP to railcars; other conveying paths for the gMOP production are functioning. The process of sMOP and gMOP production at Production Unit 1 is not disturbed. The resumption of work of Production Unit 1 after the completion of the mentioned works is scheduled on May 24, 2016.

For the reference: the operational capacity of Production Unit 1 is about 210,000 tonnes of pink MOP per month, of which 135,000 tonnes are gMOP. Similar products are produced on Production Units 2 and 3 of OJSC Belaruskali.

This incident will not influence the execution of production plan, as well as commitments of OJSC Belaruskali and OJSC Belarusian Potash Company for shipments to the customers on domestic and international markets.
